Process and technology data base
The process and technology data base is a set of process units or process interface models.
- Technology: refers to unit operation that will be assembled to define processes.
- Process: refers to set of process unit operations assembled in a flow-sheet to convert raw materials into products and by products. Following the modular approach, a process appears therefore as a set of interconnected process units operations related by mass and energy flows exchanges in pipes or cables.
Each process or technology model is added in the data base as a folder containing:
- the calculation engine model: the process data base in the calculation engine format
- the input parameters: the description of the variables that the user can modify to run the model and the way those values are send into the calculation engine process data base.
- the process unit interface model: the description of the data extracted from the calculation engine process data base and their usage to define the process unit interface.
- the documentation and the references
- the model reporting instructions
- the data base integration meta data that include
- Validation status
- Versioning
- Authorship
- Data base categorisation
Adding an element in the data base will allow its usage in various models, like process integration models, energy system integration models, or techno-economic and environmental impact assessment.
